Adult Competition schedule is as follows:

The Athletics Calender is divided into 3 main seasons – Cross Country Season (sept -feb), Indoor Season (feb-apr), Track & Field Season(may-aug) – with Road Racing continuing year round. Star of the Sea has a great history in athletics, having All Ireland Champions and numerous International appearances in all of the above fields.

With a hectic Athletics Ireland fixture list each year, there is always a track & field/ cross country/ indoor or road racing event every week. As a club, are motto is support local events; this includes events held by local clubs and Meath County Board events. Please see fixture list for all competitions.

Star of the Sea A.C. is one of the clubs within Meath Athletics, who hold a variety of events for all types of athletes. Each year there are: Meath Track & Field Championships, Meath Track & Field League, Meath Road Racing League, Meath Cross Country Championships – to progress our County Athletics please support these events.

*For insurance to train & compete with Star of the Sea A.C. you need to be a registered member within Athletics Ireland.

Current Winter/ Spring Training Sessions

Tuesdays Club Training Sessions: Two choices on Tuesdays:

*Gormanston College – Meet at Carpark of Sports Complex- 8pm – General Tempo Run for all levels & Also the Couch to 5km Programme (see details below) –  included in yearly membership fee. Contact: Karen Lavelle 086-8257727

or *St.Patricks GAA Grounds, Stamullen – 8pm- A group meet for speed training with hired Coach Gary O’Hanlon – a small weekly fee – not included in yearly membership. Contact: Karen Lavelle 086-8257727

Thursday Club Training Sessions:

Weekend Club Training Session:

Most Saturdays (on weekends without major competitions) there will be a Hill Training Session in Ardgillan, at 1pm/2pm.  – included in yearly membership fee. Contact: Brendan Meade 087-2533113.

* For insurance and child safety reasons, Please respect that Star of the Sea Athletes only have permission to train on the grounds of Gormanston College at the above times, as it is a private school & private property .

Star of the Sea A.C. have experienced coaches in all areas of athletics, please just ask and we’ll point you in the direction of the correct coach. We also interact with other clubs around the county to enhance our training. Adults Head coach is Brendan Meade.

 

Adult Fit4Life Programme & Couch to 5k Programme:

For adults, Star of the Sea A.C. is not only a registered competitive club with Athletics Ireland, but it is also one of the Athletics Ireland  FIT4LIFE registered clubs. 

The Fit4Life programme is for adults wanting to improve their health & fitness by introducing some recreational running into their weekly routine.

Currently the  Couch to 5k training is on every Tuesday & Thursday evening.
