Juvenile Athletics
Star of the Sea A.C.’s primary goals for juvenile athletics are inclusiveness for all participants and supporting Athletics Ireland programmes to increase participation in athletics. Training is aimed at giving juveniles the opportunity to participate in athletic programmes by providing the correct skills. As a club, we follow Athletics Ireland goals by ensuring that all competitions are athlete centered and appropriate, aiming at developing the talents of our local athletes to make stars of the future.
All juveniles must be/turn 7 years of age in the same calendar year to join the club and participate in training and competition schedules. Only registered club members can train and compete with the club for health and safety purposes.
Juvenile Team Training: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm at St. Patrick’s GAA grounds, Stamullen. During autumn, we also have an additional training session in Ardgillan Castle & Demesne on Saturday afternoons in preparation for the cross country season. Contact Karen for more information on our juvenile programmes on 086 825 7727.
Juvenile Competition: Just like all other sports club, as a registered member and attending weekly training you are making yourself available for juvenile teams and individual events throughout the athletics calendar, and you are willing to travel within Meath & Leinster to participate in some competitions. Athletics Ireland juvenile competition programmes include individual, club, county and provincial in ross country, outdoor track & field events, and indoor track & field events. All Athletics Ireland approved juvenile events are fun days out for the family – it is a great way to hang out with your friends, and make some new friends from neighbouring clubs also, while trying your best in your favourite events.
