About Us
Star of the Sea A.C., based in east Meath Ireland, is a sports club that caters for juvenile & adult track & field, cross country, and road racing athletes along the coast, from the River Boyne at Mornington to the River Delvin on the Meath/Dublin border.
Mornington-based athlete Dave Reynolds founded the club in 1972. The club, which was originally based in Mornington and then moved to Donacarney, is now settled in the Julianstown area for over 35 years.
Throughout the year, our club athletes support local events around County Meath, compete in Athletics Ireland championship events across the isle of Ireland and represent Ireland overseas.
Each year we host two events on the Athletics Ireland calendar – our 5km Michelle McKiernan Road Race, which takes place in Stamullen Village Meath, held yearly on the 4th Tuesday of May, and our Annual Cross Country Meeting which is held on the 4th Sunday of September each year in Greenanstown, Stamullen, Meath.
Although we are a competitive athletic club, we also have a Fit4Life section in our club for adults that are looking for a recreational running group.
